Still living

Today
The sun rose
And the motorway is already caffeinated with traffic
but you are not here
My body still functions well
It longs for you in waves - prickles hot at night
There are thousands of reasons to celebrate the miraculous synchronized unfolding of tiny things
But
you are not here
I hit the vein of revelation multiple times in a day now

Thank you

Eyes closed - heart open
your parted lips urge me
to be silent

of honey spoken poems is more-ish
insatiable in my salted mouth
They demand their aching melodies be sung

Be careful who you accuse of wrong-doing
She is but the mirror [...]

Yet to become one

Taken in small doses
Homeopathic, man-sized bits
You circled and teetered around my edges
Like a sparrow scavenging for crumbs of attention
Imaginary applause for surviving please
Finally kicking off uncomfortable heels after years of pinched suffering
